Pampered to Perfection | How to Treat Yourself!

With exciting changes that come with the new year, it’s crucial to dedicate time for yourself. Whether it’s indulging in a good book, trying a new recipe or splurging on some retail therapy- treat yourself!! Here are some of my favorite ways to relax and unwind in the midst of a hectic schedule.

Draw a bath, light a candle and enjoy- you deserve it!

Not sure where to start? Take a trip to Lush Cosmetics! Applying a Lush face mask makes me feel like a true diva. My current favorite is the cooling “Cupcake” mask. It smells sweet enough to eat and makes my skin feel better than ever. My favorite part is that it’s infused with spearmint, giving it a tingly and refreshing feel. Pop it in the fridge and apply it cold- you’ll thank me later!

If I decide to pamper myself, I go all out. Lighting a candle is one of the easiest ways to make your bathroom feel like a 5 star spa. My absolute favorite scent is “Mahogany Teakwood” from Bath and Body Works (it smells like cute boys, not kidding).

If the candle isn’t aromatherapy enough, these “Stress Relief” products will definitely do the trick. This Bath and Body Works duo smells incredible and its stress relieving power proves to certainly not be falsely advertised. If I’m not using a bath bomb, I absolutely love adding the eucalyptus tea body wash to my bubble baths. Followed by the body lotion, your skin will be in heaven.

I recently received this Liz Earle cleanser in my Birch Box and I’ve been in love! It definitely works within your pores, leaving your complexion dewy and bright. Not only does this help with breakouts, but it gives your skin an even glow. I recommend gently scrubbing it off with a hot cloth for best results.

To finish off my spa day, I absolutely adore spraying my face with this “Eau Thermale Avène” spring water. It immediately feels super soothing and refreshing when used after a cleanser. Not only does it cool my skin but the thermal water gives it a lasting soft and moisturized feel.

Peaceful Primping & Pampering | At Home SPA DAY Essentials

These last few steps of the school year can get pretty stressful, as most of us have final exams right around the corner. Let’s be real here, who has the time or energy to make it to the spa? Definitely not me. Whether you are looking for some time to unwind or battling the stress of studying, everyone deserves a summer spa day! Here are a few of my best tips and favorite products for at-home pampering and relaxation…Enjoy!

Take a bath! If you’ve been following my blog for a while now you will know that over these past few months I have become an avid “bather” (that sounds odd but you know what I mean!) In order to have the perfect spa day I would definitely recommend taking a hot bath. I always pop in a Lush product and let the magic work itself!

Can’t forget your reading material! Here I am digging into Seventeen, with the very handsome, Ansel Elgort on the cover. When taking a bath, really try to refrain from using your phone. Not only could you drop your precious baby in the water, but it’s important to take some time to your own thoughts and not constantly be scrolling through Instagram. Don’t get me wrong, I still blast my favorite calming songs, and have mini photoshoots with my lush products…they are just so darn cute!

While you are soaking in the relaxation in your hot bath, it’s the perfect time for a hair mask! This Macadamia Nourishing Moisture Masque has recently become my new favorite. Apply once a week in your hair from root to tip and be amazed at the difference you will see. I like to leave my mask in for about 10 minutes until combing through and thoroughly rinsing my hair. After just a few weeks, I feel as though my hair is softer and more hydrated. Because it should not be used too regularly, this product is perfect for your next at-home spa day!

What would a pamper session be without a manicure?! Painting my nails is definitely a must if I have some time to myself. Here I am sporting Essie’s, Tying the Knotie. This versatile shade is just the perfect baby pink and an awesome transition shade into bright summer nail colors.

Last but certainly not least, try out a mud mask! I recently received this Borghese Fango Purificante mask in my Birch Box and it’s AMAZING. Apply a thick layer of the product to your face (or body), and proceed to send scary photos to your friends as you will most likely look like a zombie. Subsequent to this, wait for the mask to dry and lightly scrub it off with cool water and a washcloth. After using the product I felt immediate results. Not only did the size of my pores minimize profusely but my face felt incredibly soft. I would definitely recommend this product for all skin types for it is the perfect mask to implement into your skincare routine and of course your spa day!
