Seasonal Shades | Winter Makeup Favorites

Nothing says winter like a metallic eyeshadow and bright red lipstick! With January right around the corner, these makeup products will help you reign in the new year with style. Here you will find my favorite shades of the season from eyeshadow palettes, to highlighters to lip products and everything in between. Enjoy!

Bold Lips

If you are hesitant to try out a bold lipstick, the holiday season is the perfect time! I adore these Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in the “Walkyrie” and “Cruella” colors. “Walkyrie” is a deep dusty rose shade and “Cruella” is a crisp, flattering red. I always use these shades in the winter time to make my looks more festive and fun.

Sparkles! Sparkles! Sparkles!

If you want to shine brighter than your neighbor’s Christmas lights, definitely pick up a quality highlighter. I absolutely love the Colourpop Supershock Highlighters. I have the shade “Wisp” and it is an exact dupe of the more expensive, BECCA “Champagne Pop” highlight. I typically apply this product to my cheek bones, cupid’s bow and bridge of my nose to give myself a subtle sparkle. The highlighter is blendable and super easy to apply with fingers or a brush. Coming in at just $6.40 this holiday season, a Colourpop highlighter is the perfect addition to any winter makeup look!

Pretty Palettes

Warm and smokey eyeshadow looks pair perfectly with a glowy face and bright red lip. Lately I have been using the Tartiest Pro Amazonian Clay Palette and The Little Palette by Morphe x Elena Gant. These palettes are equipped with lid colors, transition shades, and bright pops of color. The variety of looks that can be created with these products are endless! I recommend using metallic bases and deep maroons this season.

Metallics Galore

If you’re looking for something more portable than a palette, try out the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in “Yogurt”. This eyeshadow stick is creamy and glides beautifully onto the eye. The metallic shade looks great alone or blended with other shadows. The easy application and versatility of the pencil definitely draws me in each time I’m looking to do an elegant winter makeup look.
